Alma College strives to provide a safe learning environment and educate our community about crime prevention.
An integral component of that effort is our Campus Safety and Security Office, located in Tyler-Van Dusen.
The office is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and staffed with trained personnel from STT Security, a nationwide security organization. The campus phone exchange is x7777, or (989) 463-7777. Campus Safety and Security can also be reached by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Campus Safety and Security personnel do not have law enforcement authority; however, they work closely with local and state law enforcement agencies, which are responsible for investigating alleged crimes on campus. Students are encouraged to report all crimes accurately and promptly to Campus Safety and Security, who will notify local law enforcement agencies. Students are also encouraged to dial 911 directly in case of life-threatening emergencies.

Campus Alert System
Alma College participates in an campus alert system called Blackboard Connect. As part of this service, the college has the ability to reach students, faculty and staff with immediate, time-sensitive information or announcements using campus phones, cell phones, email and text messaging.
Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to periodically update their personal campus alert contact information. After clicking on the “Update Your Campus Alert Contact Information“ link, review and update as necessary your email addresses; work, home and mobile phone numbers; as well as select the text messaging notification option. If your 10-digit ID number that is printed on your Alma College ID card does not automatically load onto the form, you will need to provide it.
If you would like to receive campus alerts on additional or different email accounts or phones, please update your contact information by calling the ITS help desk at (989) 463-7303 or visiting Help Desk online.
