Campus Safety

Alma College strives to provide a safe learning environment and educate our community about crime prevention.

An integral component of that effort is our Campus Safety and Security Office, located in Tyler-Van Dusen.

The office is open 24/7, 365 days a year, and staffed with trained personnel from STT Security, a nationwide security organization. The campus phone exchange is x7777, or (989) 463-7777. Campus Safety and Security can also be reached by email at campussafety@alma.edu.

Campus Safety and Security personnel do not have law enforcement authority; however, they work closely with local and state law enforcement agencies, which are responsible for investigating alleged crimes on campus. Students are encouraged to report all crimes accurately and promptly to Campus Safety and Security, who will notify local law enforcement agencies. Students are also encouraged to dial 911 directly in case of life-threatening emergencies.

If your 10-digit ID number that is printed on your Alma College ID card does not automatically load onto the form, you will need to provide it.

Alma College maintains an internal set of emergency guidelines

These campus emergency guidelines have been designed to provide contingency procedures for the Alma College community to follow in the event of campus emergencies. While the guidelines do not cover every conceivable situation, they do supply the basic administrative steps necessary to cope with many anticipated campus emergencies. The procedures as outlined are intended to minimize potential risks to students, college employees, the public, and property, while affording prompt reaction to restore campus order and operations..
