Pre-Law Advising Group

The Pre-Law Advising Committee at Alma College is dedicated to helping students navigate their path to law school. Our advisors work closely with students to tailor their academic journey, offering guidance on course selection, LSAT preparation, and extracurricular opportunities. The committee provides personalized support to ensure students are well-equipped for law school and a successful legal career.

Elizabeth A. Cameron

Dr. Cameron earned a JD degree from Cooley Law School and has an MBA in Management with Certificates in International Business and Sustainability. She is licensed to practice law in Michigan, District of Columbia and before the United States Supreme Court. She has experience as a practicing attorney specializing in transactional and business law. She researches and publishes on employment law, health law, consumer protection, real estate, and cybersecurity issues.

Douglas R. Campbell

Doug received his PhD from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto. He is a specialist in ancient Greek philosophy and also researches the ethics of social media. He works as an advisor to students inside and outside Alma’s Pre-Law program.

Bob Cunningham

Dr. Cunningham is a former Coordinator of the Pre-Law Program. His wife Sara Cunningham is a graduate of the Ohio State University Law School, and a partner with the law firm Foster Swift.

Amanda Harwood

An expert in Environmental Toxicology, Dr. Harwood’s research is focused on assessing risk to humans and the environment. She has experience in ecological risk assessment and environmental law.

Derick (Sandy) Hulme

A graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, Dr. Hulme teaches and writes about various facets of international relations, including terrorism, US foreign policy, and climate change. He also directs the Model UN, P-GLOBAL, and Nationally Competitive Scholarship programs.

A graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Dr. Olbertson researches and writes about the legal history of colonial America and is Coordinator of Alma’s Pre-Law Program.
