Paraeducator to Special Education Teacher Program Student Voices

Inside the Para-to-Pro Program Experience

Welcome to our Para-to-Pro Student Interview Series, where students in the Special Education Para-to-Pro program share what the journey is really like.

In these conversations, you’ll hear directly from paraeducators who decided to take the step back into school while still working in classrooms every day. They talk about balancing jobs, families, and coursework, the support they’ve found from professors and classmates, and the small wins that make the hard work worth it.

You’ll also hear stories about the moments in the classroom that remind them why they started this path in the first place—and how the program is helping them grow into future special education teachers.

Full-Length Interviews

Our featured full-length interviews give you a chance to sit down and really hear from students in the Para-to-Pro program. In these longer conversations, they talk about their experiences in the program, and the challenges, the support they’ve found along the way, and the moments in the classroom that keep them motivated. It’s an honest look at what the program is like from the people living it every day.
