ALMA — The Alma College Model United Nations team continued its historic stretch of dominance at the Midwest Model UN Conference in February.
Competing against colleges and universities from throughout the Midwest in St. Louis, Mo., Alma earned one “outstanding delegation” award, the highest recognition at the conference, and two “distinguished delegation” awards, the second-highest recognition. It is the 32nd consecutive year that the team has received an “outstanding” award, and its 62nd “outstanding” award since 1994.
“This is one of the youngest teams we’ve taken to the Midwest Model UN Conference and they performed extraordinarily well,” said Derick “Sandy” Hulme, Arthur L. Russell Professor of Political Science and Model UN advisor. “This sets us up for another very successful national conference in the spring.”
The Alma College Model UN team will compete again at the National Model UN Conference in New York City in April. A full list of winners from the regional conference is below:
