ALMA — The Alma College Model United Nations team delivered another standout performance at the National Model UN Conference, held April 6-10 in New York City.

Competing at the world’s largest and most prestigious collegiate Model UN conference — featuring more than 5,500 students from 250 colleges and universities representing 151 countries — Alma earned three outstanding delegation awards, the highest recognition at the conference. Alma represented The Bahamas, Burkina Faso and Egypt, with each delegation receiving top honors.

The achievement continues a remarkable tradition of excellence for the program. Alma has now earned at least one outstanding delegation award for 29 consecutive years and has received a total of 61 outstanding delegation awards since 1995.

This is an extraordinary accomplishment at the most competitive level of Model UN, said Derick Sandy Hulme, Arthur L. Russell Professor of Political Science and Model UN advisor. To have all three of our delegations recognized as outstanding speaks to the preparation, teamwork and dedication of our students. Their success on this global stage reflects the strength of our program and sets a high bar for the future.
