The Alma College football team has already clinched at least a share of the MIAA championship — and now they’re chasing the outright title and a playoff berth this weekend when they host Adrian College at 2 p.m.

The Scots (7–2, 6–0 MIAA) have been prolific in conference play, and a win would give them their third outright MIAA crown in four years — something Alma hasn’t done since the early 1950s. It’s the latest chapter in a historic run under Head Coach Jason Couch ’97, who hit his 50th career win earlier this season faster than any coach in program history.

Fueling the Scots’ success are two record-breaking seniors: quarterback Carter St. John, Alma’s all-time leader in passing yards and touchdowns, and running back Eddie Williams, the program’s all-time leader in rushing and scoring. The duo has powered one of the most dynamic offenses in school history — and they’ll look to finish their regular season careers with another statement win.

And the excitement doesn’t stop with football. Saturday is a campus-wide tripleheader:

  • Men’s Basketball vs. #8 Carthage College — 11 a.m. in Art Smith Arena. Bring a new toy for donation to A Kid Again and get free admission to the game!
  • Swimming and Diving vs. Albion College — Senior Day, 11 a.m. in the McClure Natatorium (Located on the second floor of the Hogan Center).
  • Football vs. Adrian College — 2 p.m. on Bahlke Field. There will be a dance team performance pre-game, and it’s senior day for the Kiltie Marching Band.
