New Scots Meet New Opportunities.
Tartan 101 helps our new students navigate life at Alma before the start of their first semester on campus. This onboarding event will introduce new Scots to their classmates and the Alma community…and we’ll have fun doing it! This year’s Tartan 101 is August 21-25, 2024.
What to Expect
Tartan 101 gives you the chance to explore the campus and community in ways you haven’t before. You can attend social programs and activities (like a hypnotist, movies on the lawn, game shows) and much more! The entire Tartan 101 schedule we have planned will help you remain confident in your choice to become a Scot as you settle into your new home.
First Year Guides
Incoming students taking a first-year seminar will each be assigned a First Year Guide (FYG). We hired students across campus to act as peer mentors during your transition to Alma. FYGs will be there for Tartan 101 and the entirety of the fall semester.
Tartan 101 will take place August (dates coming soon) for our Fall 2024 incoming students.
