POSITION SUMMARY:
Join Alma College’s Hospitality team and help create comfortable, welcoming spaces for our guests. In this role, you’ll ensure our Airbnb-style accommodations are clean, well-stocked, and ready for every stay. This role combines hands-on property care, light maintenance, and guest focused hospitality—perfect for someone who enjoys working independently, paying attention to detail, and making a visible difference in the guest experience.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
Reports directly to the Associate Director – Hospitality & Conference Services and has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTAL FUNCTIONS:
- Clean guest rooms, common areas, hallways, lobbies, and restrooms
- Change and launder bedding and towels; restock supplies
- Empty trash, wash interior and first-floor exterior windows
- Track cleaning products and guest supplies
- Report maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain exterior areas by sweeping porches, walkways, and entrances to ensure safety and a welcoming appearance
- Follow safety guidelines for cleaning products
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stay active on your feet
- Knowledge of cleaning materials and methods
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication
- Able to work independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in hospitality, hotel, or vacation rental cleaning.
- Background in laundry management and/or linen services.
- Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations.
SCHEDULING:
- Shifts generally 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Guaranteed Monday shift (5 hrs.); additional shifts could include Fridays and alternating weekends (dependent on guest occupancy)
- Peak seasons may require extra hours, with advance notice
- Weekly hours typically 5–25
