POSITION SUMMARY:
This is a part-time, 10-month position responsible for assisting the Head Coach with all aspects of the intercollegiate football program. Key responsibilities include coaching, recruiting qualified student-athletes, fundraising, coordinating camps, developing schedules, managing budgets, building community and alumni support, monitoring academic progress, and ensuring compliance with all applicable NCAA, MIAA, and College rules and regulations.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED/EXERCISED:
This position reports to the Head Football Coach and has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: – may include but are not limited to:
- Coach the offensive unit with a focus on Wide Receivers
- Assist in overseeing all aspects of the program, including practices, competitions, film breakdowns, position meetings, and scheduling
- Support the development and execution of the program’s recruiting strategy; evaluate and recruit qualified student-athletes
- Assigned a recruiting territory which involves on-campus recruiting
- Assist with fundraising initiatives and events to support and enhance the football program
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress, including class schedules and grades
- Model and promote sportsmanship, integrity, and positive behavior among student-athletes
- Collaborate with College administration on alumni engagement efforts
- Ensure strict adherence to NCAA, MIAA, and institutional policies and regulations
- Work cooperatively with athletic department staff, attend departmental meetings and events, and positively represent the College within the campus, local community, and among alumni, high school, and club coaches
- Uphold and support the mission and philosophy of the College and the athletic department
- Foster the personal development of student-athletes as contributors to the campus and broader community
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of collegiate playing and/or extensive coaching experience
- Demonstrated experience playing or coaching Wide Receivers
- Comprehensive knowledge of NCAA Division III, MIAA compliance, and understanding of the Division III student-athlete experience
- Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Ability to effectively perform the essential functions of the position
PREFERRERD QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations
