Art and Design Instructor -3D Specialist – 9323

POSITION SUMMARY:

Alma College invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track instructor in 3-dimensional art and design starting August 2024. The Art and Design Department seeks a candidate with broad expertise in the field of 3D Art and Design, supported by a body of work and relevant teaching experience. Candidates interested in supporting and building a liberal arts education and interdisciplinary collaboration with other departments and majors are specifically encouraged to apply.

REQUIREMENTS:

The position requires an MFA or equivalent degree. Applicants should be prepared to teach foundational through advanced courses in 3D making. Candidates will engage in the college’s CORE general education program teaching students in various disciplines spatial reasoning and spatial problem solving. Candidates will have the opportunity to help form the direction of the 3D area. The normal teaching load is six courses per year, split between Fall and Winter semester and sometimes our focused one-month Spring term. Alma College’s Art and Design building is equipped with a woodshop, metal fabrication studio, fab lab, studio spaces and ceramic studio for all art and design full time faculty.
