Toni Myers is a Hastings, Michigan native and resided in Oklahoma for 15 years, teaching secondary music for 13 years. She has performed at multiple Montreux International Jazz Festivals, the Lionel Hampton International Jazz Festival, the Music Educator’s National Convention, and the Paris Conservatory International Percussion Festival in Paris, France. She was a member of the esteemed Robert Hohner Percussion Ensemble, Alma College Percussion Ensemble, the Steelheads, Legacy Percussion Orchestra and the Oklahoma City University Percussion Ensemble. She enjoys playing, but really found her passion in music education. While teaching, Toni helped lead students to six state championships in Oklahoma Bandmasters Association’s State Marching Band Championships. Her students also competed at numerous Bands of America Super Regional competitions and earned a Class A championship. She founded the Piedmont Percussion Project as well as the Yukon Percussion Crew, which both performed annually at the Oklahoma Percussive Arts Society. Toni assists with the Kiltie Marching Band, leads both the Kiltie Wind Ensemble and Alma Jazz Ensemble, and teaches music education courses here at Alma College.
