Prathim-Maya Dora-Laskey is an associate professor of English. Their career at Alma College began in 2012.
They are a believer in making connections between the events of our present world, literature and theory. They believe in literature as an account of current and lived-in realities rather than as historical phases or eras.
In their own words, “I am a promoter of social justice through literature. Naturally, I do my best to incorporate notions of fairness, inclusiveness and active listening in our class contract. I am an enabler of informed and mindful activism so we can transfer our intellectual engagement to build a fair and sustainable world.”
Educational Background:
World literatures in English, twentieth-century British literature, women’s, gender and sexuality studies, global/postcolonial/anglophone literatures, literary theory, cultural studies, childhood studies and ecocriticism.
