Joel Dopke joined the faculty at Alma in 2007, teaching courses in general, inorganic and organic chemistry. Dr. Dopke’s research focuses on the modification of boron hydride clusters to create new anions for potential use in catalysis, energy storage and cancer therapeutics. His research students have gone on to teach, work in the chemical industry and attain advanced degrees in chemistry, chemical engineering and law. In his spare time, Dr. Dopke likes to exercise, read, watch bad TV and cook.
