Professional Experience
Dilynn started her professional journey at a young age. Her first position was washing dishes for her family’s local restaurant at 14 until she graduated from high school. She then began a retail position at Bath & Body Works where she worked as a keyholder until starting her studies at Kalamazoo College.

During her time in her undergraduate program, Dilynn worked in the Theatre Department of Kalamazoo College as a costume shop assistant and office assistant. Additionally, Dilynn worked as a Resident Assistant during her last year on campus until her study abroad experience in Madrid.

Studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, was Dilynn’s final semester at Kalamazoo College. There, she took five Spanish courses to expand her language skills and volunteered in a music school providing administrative support. Dilynn was in Madrid for five months before returning home and receiving her degree. Shortly after returning home from Madrid, she joined the Alma family.

Why I Love Alma
Dilynn developed her love for Alma College through growing up in the area as a Gratiot County native and local high school graduate. She spent her childhood surrounded by Scots and could be frequently found on campus, both with her extracurricular activities and her family who worked on the campus in the past.

Dilynn believes the Alma College experience is powerful and transformative for every student’s professional, personal, and social development. She believes a college is meant to be a second home for students to feel safe, comfortable, and accepted. Through her time in the area, she has grown to believe that Alma College is the best college for that experience.

Outside the College
Family, friends, and music have always played an important role in Dilynn’s life. Dilynn met her best friend during her time in college and makes sure to visit her as regularly as she can, as she believes her college experience was meant to bring them together. She has a golden retriever, Benny, who she refers to as her son, but the majority of her free time is spent writing music, as she loves to play the guitar or piano and sing.
