Deborah Dougherty

Deborah A. Dougherty’s career at Alma began in 1996. She is dedicated to helping students learn how to think critically from a variety of different perspectives. She just happens to ask them to do it in Spanish! In her words, “I’ll help you polish your language skills as I guide you through course content (where I get to influence what we think about). But what’s most important is for you to learn how to think and express yourself. Once you’ve got that down, you can think about whatever you want, and you can do it in two languages.”
