Host a Job Shadow

Take a Scot “on the spot” by providing a job shadowing experience! Job shadowing allows students to explore career interests, experience a day-in-the-life of a specific occupation and culture within an organization, and launch meaningful relationships that can support them as they search for internships and employment opportunities. Scots on the Spot job shadow sponsors will be connected with motivated students seeking to explore their field.

Alma Venture Program

Alma Venture Program

The Alma Venture program provides students with up to $2,500 to offset certain costs associated with an eligible internship, research or clinical experience. The program allows students to put what they are learning in the classroom to work in a meaningful way and advance their academic or career goals.

Students typically use this award to help offset their expenses such as room, board, and transportation. Venture support is not available for work for a relative or work based in a private home. The grant is not intended to replace a wage for a position that would otherwise be offered as a paid internship.

For additional information on Venture-eligible internships, see this information sheet for host-site supervisors or contact the Center for College and Community Engagement (3CE) at ccce@alma.edu.
