The Alma Venture
Dream it, learn it, do it. The Alma Venture program means that you — and every single one of your peers — will have the opportunity to design a unique, hands-on learning experience at home or abroad.
How do I become a veterinarian?
Practicing as a veterinarian requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, which is a four-year post-baccalaureate program. Students pursuing this career can complete the pre-vet curriculum at Alma College and then matriculate to a DVM program.
There are 30 DVM programs in the United States, one of which is in Michigan. Many of our pre-veterinary students have matriculated to Michigan State University.

The work that I put into getting my degrees at Alma prepared me for the rigors of going into a graduate level program — I was ready to put in the work, and that is half of the challenge.
