We have taken on a number of new initiatives to support you, and to make travel easier.
The college continues to offer in-person classes this fall. The first day of classes will now be Aug. 24, 2020. Please contact the admissions office for an updated I-20 form, to reflect this new date, as well as a letter of support for travel to the United States.
Incoming students who cannot secure an F-1 visa at this time, or live in a country with travel restrictions in place due to the pandemic, and cannot be in Alma next month due one of these factors, may complete their first semester online. Students who complete their coursework in this way can be issued a new I-20, if appropriate. Incoming students are asked to reach out to the admissions office as soon as possible if they need to complete their coursework in this. Returning students should contact Carla Jensen, director of career and personal development, at (989) 463-7421 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
All students traveling internationally are required by the Mid-Michigan District Health Department to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. The college will provide housing and meals during the quarantine period. Please contact Jensen or Ameer Alsabaa, associate director of admissions for international recruitment, at email@example.com or (989) 463-7292, for more information.
Students arriving from outside the United States should plan to arrive at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) or Capital Region International Airport (LAN) in Lansing before 5 p.m. on Aug. 3, 4 or 5. On each of these dates, the college will provide a shuttle bus departing DTW in the late afternoon, stop at the airport in Lansing and eventually arrive in Alma. Students who cannot find a flight time during that window are asked to contact Ameer Alsabaa or Carla Jensen for more information.
Incoming international students who will be traveling to Alma from within the United States should contact Ameer Alsabaa to learn how to arrange a move in time.
