Not all students have ready access to a car but many may need transportation around town or back-and-forth from campus to home or other destinations.

There are safe and convenient transportation options that will help you meet your transportation needs around town and when traveling afar.

Around Town

Safe and convenient transportation options for getting around Alma include:

  • Walking/riding a bicycle
  • Getting a ride from a friend
  • Using Dial-A-Ride, (989) 463-6016
    • Provides door-to-door service, free with Alma student ID card, Monday—Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. within Alma

A number of options exist for those looking to leave Alma for a weekend or scheduled break:

At the beginning and end of term, and around major college breaks, Alma College offers transportation to and from the following locations: Detroit Metro Airport (DTW), Lansing’s Capital Region International Airport (LAN), and the Capital Area Multimodal Gateway (also known as the East Lansing bus and train station). Please use the following form to identify available shuttle dates/times and plan your transportation needs and onward tickets around the provided shuttle times.

Note: all requests should be made at least 2 weeks in advance in order to secure your transportation needs.  Pick-ups and drop-offs to the Detroit Metro Airport will be made at the McNamara Terminal Ground Transportation Area.
