Delta Gamma Tau
Delta Gamma Tau (DGT) is a local fraternity that was founded in 1938 in Alma and was officially recognized in 1939 when the first pledge class was accepted.
From 1984-2014, Delta Gamma Tau nationalized as Sigma Alpha Epsilon. In December 2014, Sigma Alpha Epsilon returned to its local roots and reformed as Delta Gamma Tau.
The founding of DGT was inspired by the crusaders of the Middle Ages and the “alma mater.” The members of DGT try every day to incorporate the chivalry, bravery, friendliness, and honor of the crusaders and the pursuit of intellectual mastery encapsulated in the “alma mater.”
Delta Gamma Tau prides itself in being one of the most eclectic and diverse group of individuals. Members of DGT are active in many campus activities including various athletics, clubs, jobs, philanthropy, among many others. Signature events include the Turkey Warrior Bowl (flag football tournament) and monthly Big Brothers Big Sisters events. The fraternity colors are blue and white. The group’s philanthropies include the Alma Presbyterian Church Community Kitchen and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
