New Employees

Congratulations, and welcome to Alma College.  We understand that starting a new job can be filled with excitement, a ton of new information, and lots of questions. Our HR team is here to help provide you with the help and support you need to be successful in your new role.

1.  Background Check and Appointment Letter

You’ll receive an email from Hire Right to complete your background. Your appointment letter will be emailed to you, and the signed letter should be returned to the Human Resources Department.

2.  Please confirm the first day plans with your supervisor.

3.  On Your First Day

Human Resources Appointment - All new hired must attend a short in-person meeting in HR on their first day to complete their form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification. Your supervisor will let you know when the appointment has been scheduled.  

Form I-9 and W-4 - please bring your original documents needed for the Form I-9 and W-4.

Parking Permits - Employees are required to obtain a parking permits for up to two vehicles that will be parked in college parking lots. Parking permits can be obtained from the Human Resources office, located in the Centennial House. 

College ID - Please visit the Sodexo Office located in the lower level of Hamilton to obtain your ID card. Your card will grant access to building, allow access to printers, store meal packages and Munch Money and allow access to college sponsored events.

Daily Health Screening - all employees are required to complete a daily health screening.  Please take a moment to add the application to the device of your choice.

4.  During Your First Month

Required Training - all employees must complete training pertaining to the prevention of sexual harassment, Civil Rights and Title IX information and prevention, Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace, workplace harassment prevention and active shooter training.  Click here to access the required training.
