AIYM offers students in grades 9-12 with opportunities and resources to explore their own religious and spiritual traditions and those of others who believe and practice differently. AIYM enables participants to overcome barriers and move toward pluralism, mutual appreciation, and cooperative engagement for the common good of humankind. Through AIYM, Alma College demonstrates its identity as a safe and challenging spiritual home for future college students who find themselves at any point on their journey of faith.
Regretfully, given low registration numbers, we made the decision to cancel the 2018 Alma Interfaith Youth Mix scheduled for November 4. We felt we did not have the critical mass necessary to create the type of vibrant interfaith dialogue experience we wanted each participant to experience when attending the event. It was a difficult decision and we know those planning to attend will be disappointed, but we thought it better to cancel than to provide a less than optimal experience for participants.
We plan to offer several faith-based and service related programs in 2019, including at least two summer camps. We hope you and/or members of your faith community will be able to join us for one or more of these events. More information regarding these offerings will be available in the coming weeks on the following websites and Facebook pages:
