7 Things to Remember in Your Final Semester of High School
You’ve made it to the final semester of your senior year of high school. All of your hard work has paid off, and you are ready to begin the next chapter of your life: moving on to college.
Regardless of where you end up going to college, we want to give you a few ways to make your decision-making process a little easier. This way, you’re prepared, and instead of doing things at the last minute, you can live in the moment for these next few months — and enjoy your senior year.
Here are seven things to keep in mind as you start your final semester:
CHECK IN WITH YOURSELF We want you to feel at home at college. So, think — and be honest with yourself — about who you are and what makes you happy. Make sure you are making the jump to the right school for you.
VISIT CAMPUS What better way to know if Alma is a good fit for you than to step foot on campus? If you haven’t toured Alma, be sure to call the Admissions Office to make an appointment or schedule a visit online.
WATCH YOUR INBOX Yes, we’re sure you get a lot of email. For us, it’s a tool to give you all the information you need to stay in the loop for the coming months. Make note of upcoming admissions events and important deadlines by paying close attention to your email.
APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS Who doesn’t love free money? Apply for additional scholarships that you are eligible for through the college or outside sources. You will not regret spending the extra time finding ways to spend less on tuition — so that you can spend more on the things you love.
STAY IN TOUCH Keep in communication with your admissions counselor. They are here to help you through this process and can answer the questions you may have in the remaining months of your senior year.
FOLLOW US ON SOCIAL Stay up-to-date on campus culture, news, and announcements on Alma College social media channels. You can also join the “Alma College New Scots 2023” private Facebook group and Instagram page at @almacollegenewscots2023 to get to know your future classmates and receive more updates from the admissions counselors.
ENJOY! As this chapter in your life comes to a close, remember to enjoy the end of your senior year. Spend time with friends and family, join a club, try a new sport and finish your time in high school on a high note. Congratulations, seniors — there is so much more in store!
