What is your current career/professional role?

I am a Health, Safety and Environmental Specialist working for GKN Driveline in Auburn Hills, MI.

My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is:

I have two, because I can’t decide which one is better. The first is playing my final game for the Men’s Lacrosse team my senior year. It was the culmination of four years of blood, sweat and tears with my teammates and as soon as the game ended I knew I wouldn’t play again but I would, however, have best friends for life. Second is the Business Spring Term, Strategic Leadership, that President Abernathy, Dr. Baleja, and Darryl Schimeck created. The entirety of that class - from meeting nearly 30 Alma alumni and board members to learning personal and business skills that I still use to this day - was one of, if not the, most influential classes I took at Alma. The chance to pick the brains of some of the most successful Alma alumni was an amazing opportunity and one that I’ll always look back at if I need some guidance.

Statement about how Alma impacted your personal and professional life since graduating.

My time at Alma taught me the necessary tools to succeed in the professional world including time management, networking, hard work and determination.

What current service and/or philanthropy activity are you involved in?

I currently help run and manage the Alma College Men’s Lacrosse Alumni group.

What would you say to a prospective student and their family who was trying to decide if Alma was right for them?

I would tell them to make sure that they are looking for what Alma has to offer: small class sizes, personal relationships with professors, etc. I loved what Alma had to offer because I didn’t want to be just another number in the system, I wanted to be a name.

Why Alma still matters to me.

Alma still matters to me because of the catalyst that it was for my personal and professional life. All of the lessons that I learned, friendships, and growth, both personal and professional, that I experienced at Alma is why I still support and am involved with Alma College. It truly is a one-of-a-kind college and I’m very happy that I chose to attend Alma.
