I studied:

I currently live in:

Darien, Connecticut

What is your current career/professional role?

I graduated from Frank H. Netter, MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University (North Haven, CT) with my MD and I am starting my medical residency at Stamford Hospital (Stamford, CT) in family medicine.

My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is:

The best memories of my time at Alma College are the times I was able to go from classes that I loved to clubs that were amazing to spending time with friends. Each of these moments allowed me to build relationships that have helped to build me into the person I am today.

Statement about how Alma impacted your personal and professional life since graduating.

My experience at Alma College helped me to gain the skills I have needed to continue succeeding in medical school and getting into residency. I have especially been grateful for all of the in-person, personalized teaching I had from so many caring professors. I have truly excelled in interviews because professors and staff at Alma helped me learn how to confidently talk about my passions.

What current service and/or philanthropy activity are you involved in?

I am currently dedicating the time I have between medical school and residency to doing pandemic response in my county in Connecticut, which is part of the metropolitan NYC area, with a local family medicine practice, Murphy Medical. From collecting samples from patients at drive through testing centers, to helping get results to patients as quickly as possible, I eat/sleep/breathe all things COVID-19.

Advice I would give a new graduate:

I recommend new grads and not-so-new-grads continue to use all the resources Alma has to offer. You may need help career planning or getting a letter of recommendation for a new opportunity you have and those are things Alma will continue to support you in doing.

What would you say to a prospective student and their family who was trying to decide if Alma was right for them?

Ask questions! If there’s anything you need to know, people are happy to help and truly care so you can make the best decision for yourself.

How I have given back to Alma since graduation:

Since graduation, I have mentored a current Alma student for research during her P-Global experience. She was able to work with me on my medical school research project which assessed childhood mortality rates on a remote island in Lake Malawi, Sub-Saharan Africa. My project truly would not have been possible without having her on my team and I am so glad that at the same time I could work with her to build her resume!! (SHOUT OUT TO ANNA!)
