I'm involved in:
SMC: Worship Leader, Alma Symphony Orchestra, Kiltie Marching Band/Concert Bands (Co-Section Leader), Alma College Chorale, Music Man Pit Orchestra, and member of NAfME (National Association for Music Education)
After I graduate, I plan to:
I will be student teaching at Harbor Springs Public Schools. Then I want to teach Secondary Instrumental Music in public schools and help as many students as I can. I would also like to travel and continue my education in grad school..
My favorite place on campus is:
Eddy Music Building and Chapel
Some of my favorite professors include:
Dr. Rev. Andrew Pomerville (even though he is not my professor), Professor David Zerbe, Dr. William Nichols, Dr. Yates, and Dr. Scott Messing (now retired).
So far, my favorite class(es) have been:
Marching Band, Chorale, and Orchestra
My greatest accomplishment at Alma is:
I have earned a leadership position in the Alma Bands every year I have been here.
I'd advise an Alma freshman to:
It is alright to feel overwhelmed every once in a while and ask for help. It doesn’t make you weak. The people who look like they have things put together most likely don’t.
What I like most about studying at Alma is:
I am able to participate in multiple music classes and ensembles, while also trying new things like an Archaeological Dig on campus.
My favorite part about living on campus is:
It never takes too long to go from one place to another on campus.
