Summary of your experience:

I conducted research at the Wayne State University Department of Physiology, with a focus on vascular physiology.

What did you learn as a result of this experience?

My background in physiology and chemistry was very helpful and set me up to be able to quickly learn new experimental techniques in lab. I believe this experience gave me the chance to practice a lot of things I already knew from my science classes at Alma College and to apply them in real world situations. It helped me to build some new habits, strengthen some old ones, and rid myself of bad ones.

How has your Alma Venture solidified or altered your career goals?

This experience has taught me to pay close attention to small details in every aspect and to see how every detail in an area of interest works together. This newfound respect for observation of details will prove to be invaluable in graduate school and in the healthcare field.

What was the most rewarding experience during your Alma Venture?

My favorite part was working in the lab environment. It can gave me a chance to hone my lab skills and to learn a few new ones and a few new lab habits.
