Religious Studies

Allison Muenzer

Class of

2020

My hometown is

Fenton, MI

My major(s):

Dance and Religious Studies

I'm involved in:

Alma College Dance Company, Alma College Chapel, Pi Delta Chi, Gamma Phi Beta Sorority, and Youth for Christ of Central Michigan

After I graduate I plan to

possibly to attend seminary or open a dance studio

My favorite place on campus is

the dance studio

Some of my favorite professors include

Crystal Fullmer, Rosely Conz, Dr. Blanchard

So far, my favorite class(es) has/have been

Dance Somatics

My greatest accomplishment at Alma is

presenting one of my dance works at the American College Dance Association National Conference at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and on Honors Day.

I'd advise an Alma freshman to

talk to the people in your classes, etc. Chances are, someone else is feeling alone or homesick and just want someone to say “Hi!”.

I'd tell a student considering coming to Alma

go with your gut feeling. It sounds cliché but do it. When you know what school is right for you, you’ll know.

What I like most about studying at Alma is

the freedom to blend together my two areas of interest, and successfully (at least I hope so!) do so.

My favorite part about living on campus is

how close I am to my friends. Take advantage of that now, because soon they won’t be three doors down the hall from you.

I went to

I’ve been able to go the American College Dance Association National Conference the past two years: my freshman year at Kent State University in Ohio and my sophomore year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It was a life changing experience for me as a dancer, choreographer, and hopeful teacher. I was able to take classes from internationally known faculty, view hundreds of dance performances from students, faculty, and guest artists, and be surrounded by college dancers from all of the country.
