Discussion and analysis of major debates on various facets of World War II, looking at multiple theaters and including consideration of the war on land, at sea, and in the air. Themes in the chosen case studies include planning, technology, strategy and tactics, intelligence, diplomacy, occupations policies, including the Holocaust, and resistance during World War II. The course includes a major research paper, drawing in part on extensive published primary sources and documentary collections in the College library.


Prerequisite: Sophomore Standing, and one history course or Permission
