Office of Alumni Engagement

Okwara Uzoh

My hometown when I was a student was:

Berrien Springs, MI

I graduated from Alma in:

2010

I studied:

Theatre and Computer Science

I currently live in:

Chicago, IL

I am now:

working at the American Medical Association as a Technical Business Analyst

Since graduating from Alma:

I moved to Chicago, met my wife and got married in 2017, building wonderful relationships, and taking advantage of different opportunities that present themselves in the city.

My Alma education:

is one of the best experiences I have had. I had all kinds of opportunities presented to me at Alma and I feel that I took great advantage of them while I was a student.

My favorite place(s) on campus included:

The Heritage Center, KI, TKE, Theta Chi

My favorite professor(s) included:

Joe Jezewski, Robert Molina, and Myles McNally

My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is:

Every moment I was at the Heritage Center, TKE house, KI House, and Theta Chi house. I met so many wonderful humans through all of that.

How Alma has helped with my current plan/job/graduate school/etc.:

Words can’t explain how Alma has helped me. I will always credit the theatre program and the people I interacted with at Alma for helping me get to my current path in life. I feel grateful.

How I have given back to Alma since graduation

Being an ambassador and attending Alma events in the city of Chicago when I have an opportunity.

Advice I would give a new graduate:

Start looking for internships early - they are great building blocks for post undergrad life. Never give up, be kind to those you interact with, and be kind to yourself. Take everything one step at a time.
