Since graduating from Alma:
I have established a career with Northwestern Mutual that has allowed me to build relationships across the country. I have developed my career in both in the field offices and at a corporate level at our offices in Milwaukee serving clients and partnering with financial professionals.
I have continued to dedicate myself to my community in several ways including serving as President of the Alumni Board for Alma College, participating in non-profit organizations as a member of the board for Art Reach of Mid-Michigan and the Charles E. Anthony Zipper Open, a member of the Governance Committee for the Northwestern Mutual LGBTA Employee Resource Group, and a volunteer for the Milwaukee Urban Ecological Center, The Guest House of Milwaukee and Near West Little League of Chicago. I currently serve as a lead for the Soul City Family Connections team, partner with fundraising towards a cure for childhood cancer with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and as a tutor for the Midtown Educational Foundation – an institution guiding low-income individuals on a path towards success.
My personal time is spent continuing my education with the American College of Financial Services, engaging in the Chicago music scene, practicing yoga and kickboxing.
My Alma education:
helped me to understand the value of exploring everything life can offer while finding mastery in your passions.
My favorite place(s) on campus included:
WQAC, the porch of the McCurdy house and the Chapel.
My favorite professor(s) included:
Will Nichols, Ron Lemmon, Gregory Baleja
My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is:
a tie! It is a true toss up between all choir tours and my spring term traveling with Dr. Mr. Arnold to Poland, Germany and the Czech Republic.
How Alma has helped with my current plan/job/graduate school/etc.:
Fostering relationships as a student allowed me to remain deeply engaged with Alma post-graduation. Provided with limitless opportunities, I continue to leverage mentorship from fellow successful graduates as I pursue my passions personally and professionally.
How I have given back to Alma since graduation
I have contributed financially, participated in the Alumni Board, assisted with the Chicago In-City interview experience, hosted regional gatherings, referred job opportunities with my company, helped to promote the Alma Ambassador program and facilitated personal and professional partnerships for campus, current students and alumni.
Advice I would give a new graduate:
Be fearless in the pursuit of your passions! Your education and experiences from Alma will prepare you well for any adventure!
