Hello everyone! I am a junior here at Alma College with an English major and a Spanish minor, but I wasn’t always a “humanities buff.” Medical school was my initial plan (we can see how well that worked out). Reading Victorian poetry during my Organic Chemistry lab was a rather strong indicator that I was in the wrong classroom, so I fixed that problem! Now, I spend my hours reading and writing about the noblest figures in the literary world, and I couldn’t be happier. My favorite piece (at the moment) would have to be The Confessions of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. I have never connected with a piece of writing as intensely as I have with his story, and it will continue to influence my interpretation of the world each time I read it. Reading and writing are not my only pass times. I am the Science Blowout Chair for Chemistry Club (I couldn’t let all of the science go), a copy editor for the Almanian, a member of Alpha Phi Omega and Sigma Tau Delta, and a content creator for Odyssey Online. When I am not slaving away in the library or running from meeting to meeting, I am at home in Wyandotte, Michigan. I live with my younger brother Robert and my mothers Nancy and Cheryl. My three Chihuahuas—Milo, Chubs, and Scout—keep me pretty entertained from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. as I attempt to be productive. Working for the Writing Center allows me to spread not only my love for writing, but its importance as well. I am so excited to work with all of the wonderful ideas you have!
