Since graduating from Alma
I accepted a teaching position at Washtenaw International Middle Academy at Washtenaw International High School in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where I taught band, choir, and a project management course for three years. During that time, I also served as the Music Director at Grace Lutheran Church in Howell, where I directed the choir and accompanied the praise teams on piano. In January 2016, I began studying to obtain my Masters of Public Administration at Eastern Michigan University, as well as a graduate certificate in Marketing Management. My master’s degree and graduate certificate will be complete in December 2018. In August 2016, I changed careers, and accepted my current position as Marketing Director at Midland Tool & Supply in Oak Park, Michigan. I met my husband, William Dresser, in 2011 at Alma College when we were seniors, and we were married on July 25, 2015 in Sturgis, Michigan, in the company of our family and friends. We currently live in Wayne, Michigan with our two cats, Oban and Aberlour, Scottish Gaelic for Little Bay and Big River, respectively.
My Alma education
provided me with a comprehensive, holistic education and plenty of opportunity for professional development. Both allowed me to become a successful music educator, and to eventually change careers with ease.
My favorite place(s) on campus included
The Eddy Music Building, Zeta Sigma Fraternity, the “Rail Trail,” Joe’s, the track and football stadium, the Rec Center, and the Gelston piano.
My favorite professors(s) included
Dr. Messing, David Zerbe, Dr. Gross, Dr. Seals, Ginna Holmes, and Dr. Miller
My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is
staying on campus during the summers of 2011 and 2012, working for campus facilities and Nancy E. Gallagher, PLLC in the downtown. Alma College was truly home to me.
