IPH 280M Health Education and Behavior

Course Description:

The overall goal of the course is to offer students the opportunity to synthesize, integrate, and apply knowledge acquired through IPHS courses to health promotion in our community. Students will be able to describe social factors to present-day health inequalities, apply social determinants of health perspective to a public health problem, and design/apply a community-based health promotion. Alma High School has many students receiving special services, and these students range in needs and abilities. This summer, students at Alma College will work with students with special needs at Alma High School, and Alma College students will provide them educational sessions covering different health topics, such as mental health, healthy diet and physical activity.

 

This course satisfies: ā€œSā€ course spring requirement.
