My greatest accomplishment at Alma is
surviving swim season during freshman year – that was one of the most difficult things for me physically AND mentally, but it was the most beneficial experience at Alma so far.
I'd advise an Alma freshman to
join things and don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and do things ALONE!
I'd tell a student considering coming to Alma
go with your gut feeling and really feel out what you’re looking for. Alma isn’t for everyone, BUT it is a perfect fit for those who enjoy being tremendously involved with their academics, but also like to be challenge balancing fun social life activities.
What I like most about studying at Alma is
the connection with professors and opportunities that we as students have!
My favorite part about living on campus is
being a simple short distance from my friends!
I went to
Arizona/Mexico during an alternative break to learn about immigration issues and it was super enlightening and a shock with helping us students realize the problems happening outside of our backyards. While there we visited a women’s aid shelter and the sorrow and hurt that was inside that place because of the excruciatingly horrific incidents each woman had gone through was enough to inspire me to want to create a change and learn more about the rights of individuals and make an effort to make this world a better place.
