Summary of your experience:
What did you learn as a result of this experience?
I was able to memorize most of the fish and invertebrates and I learned about their behavior. However, the most important thing I learned was that I want to study more marine biology.
How has your Alma Venture solidified or altered your career goals?
Before the trip I had little to no exposure in the field that I want to pursue in grad school, marine biology. This experience allowed me to be able to solidify that the field of marine biology is something that I want to continue to study.
What was the most rewarding experience during your Alma Venture?
My favorite part of the experience was the manta ray night dive. In this dive we got to be placed inches from manta rays. This was also the only night dive we did so it was cool to see the marine life that shows up at night.
What advice would you give a student considering this type of Alma Venture?
I would recommend this experience to everyone. It was a hard class and it seemed as though the entire time we were all exhausted because we were active every second, but it was the best experience I have had at Alma!
