Joseph Radtke

Joseph Radtke was appointed adjunct instructor of trombone in 2015 and currently serves as instrumental music teacher for the Breckenridge Community School district. His career includes teaching and directing jazz bands, concert bands, marching bands, general music classes, choral music, chamber ensembles and individualized instrumental instruction. He is the founder of the Summer Jazz Institute; an organization dedicated to giving local student and adult musicians the opportunity to perform jazz during the summer. Joseph studied trombone with Dr. Robert Lindahl at Central Michigan University where he earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 2005 and a Masters in Music Education in 2014.

Joseph Radtke is also an active freelance trombonist and conductor. Currently, Joseph is the second trombonist with the West Michigan Symphony Orchestra and Midland Symphony Orchestra and he is principal trombone for the Baroque on Beaver Island Festival. Joseph serves on the board of directors for the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band.

He also has performed with the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Saginaw Eddy Concert Band, Saginaw Chorale Society, Midland Music Society, Michigan Jazz Trail Big Band, Paradigm Brass Quintet and many other ensembles throughout Michigan. Joseph is the associate conductor for the Central Michigan Area Concert Band, the primary conductor for the Click Clack Moosic Ensemble with West Michigan Symphony, and has conducted the Saginaw Eddy Concert Band (November 2015).
