I currently live in

Lansing, Mich.

I am now

a third-year law student at Thomas M. Cooley Law School

Since graduating from Alma

I was accepted to Thomas M. Cooley Law School with an honors scholarship. I am currently in my last year and will be graduating in January 2015. I will be taking the Michigan Bar exam in February 2015.

My Alma education

challenged me academically more than any other institution ever has. Its graduation requirements dictate that students obtain a liberal arts education by dipping into a variety of different subject matters. A mind that can grasp and learn about different areas of academia is a mind that will be successful in law school, where we learn to be proficient in a variety of areas of the law.

My favorite professors(s) included

It is a difficult choice because so many professors stick in my memory as positive influences. If I have to pick one it would be Dr. Aspinall because he is someone who is passionate about teaching and deeply cares about his students; he goes as far as giving all of his students a flower at the last class of each term.

I enjoyed taking history classes taught by Dr. Olbertson. I am by no means a history buff, but she engages her students in the subject matter in a way that makes learning enjoyable. Specifically, her American legal history course opened up my eyes to the evolvement of law in our nation, which is an insight that made me appreciate my future profession more than ever.

My most vivid/best memory of my time at Alma is

when I joined Greek life; I gained so many new friends and wouldn’t trade that experience for anything.
