Victoria Walker

Soprano Victoria Walker has performed extensively in the United States and Europe in opera, oratorio and art song.

She has appeared as a soloist with the Montreal Symphony as well as the Lansing, Jackson, Saginaw, Battle Creek, Keewenaw and Michigan State University Symphony Orchestras. She has also been a featured soloist with the Jackson Chorale, MSU Collegium Orchestra, University Chorale, Concert Band and Wind Symphony.

Her operatic roles include Rosina (Barber of Seville), Norina (Don Pasquale), Laetitia (The Old Maid and the Thief), Countess (Marriage of Figaro), Pamina (Magic Flute) and The Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors).

Equally at home on the oratorio stage, Ms. Walker has been heard as soloist in Messiah (Handel), Carmina Burana (Orff), St. John and St. Matthew Passion (Bach), B Minor Mass (Bach), Christmas Oratorio (Saint Saens), Gloria (Poulenc) and both the Rutter and Mozart Requiem. Ms. Walker has performed in Austria in conjunction with the American Institute of Musical Studies, and she was named the youngest Laureate in the 1989 International Concours de Musique held in Montreal, Quebec.

For the past 16 years, Ms. Walker has been an Instructor of Voice at Alma College, maintaining a full studio of students and teaching courses in Class Voice, Vocal and Choral Pedagogy and Opera Workshop. An alumna of Michigan State and the Eastman School of Music, Ms. Walker continues to be a highly sought after soloist and recitalist.
