Lifeguard - Summer Only

FLSA EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY: Hourly; Non-Exempt; Staff, Temporary

DEPARTMENT: Stone Recreation Center

POSITION SUMMARY:

The lifeguard is responsible for pool coverage during the summer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Lifeguards will provide coverage of the pool during open swim hours. This will include supervising the pool, ensuring pool area rules are being followed, and safety procedures are enacted. Lifeguards are expected to be fully certified prior to being hired by Alma College, including: Lifeguard certification, CPR/AED certified, and first aid certified.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Communicates with others clearly and effectively
• Promotes positivity and teamwork
• Able to adjust to new situations easily
• Current Lifeguard Certification that is valid for at least 6 months
• Current CPR/AED certification that is valid for at least 6 months.

WAGE:

$12.00/hour
