Summary: The Department of Business at Alma College, Alma, Michigan invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Associate or Full Professor beginning August 2023.
Qualifications: Teaching experience and/or professional experience preferred. A Ph.D. or Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) or related fields is preferred. An All But Dissertation (ABD) or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with professional college level teaching experience will be considered.
Teaching Responsibilities: The department seeks an experienced and established academic leader for the Department of Business. Successful applicants will be expected to assume a strong leadership role in the department and in the college, with particular focus on continuing the current positive trajectory of the department’s recent curriculum reform efforts. These efforts include: building deep connections to the corporate world, growing experiential learning, emphasizing analytics, and continuing to build new programs when opportunities arise. Beyond the expected leadership role, the need is for a faculty colleague with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts context. We have need for a generalist who is willing to teach our introductory Business course, and can teach across multiple Business fields, including finance, data analytics, and project management. Typical teaching load is six courses per year.
Research and Service Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to establish a productive research program/scholarly agenda. Service to the college through committee work and other activities is expected of all tenure-track faculty. External service to the public and to the community are supported.
