Assistant Director of Campus Engagement and Events

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Director of Campus Engagement and Events at Alma College provides support to the enrollment management function in the recruitment of first-year, transfer, graduate, and international students by coordinating and executing on customer service and engagement activities designed to convert students through each stage of the enrollment funnel. Engagement should be inclusive of recruitment visits, events (on and off-campus), reception/arrival process, auditions, and other organized activities to promote Alma to students, parents, partners, or influencers on the student decisions to attend (e.g., athletics, student affairs, orientation, performing arts, vendors, high school guidance counselors, etc.) to ensure robust and meaningful funnel outcomes. Additionally, the assistant director will support the Alma College campus welcome process as well recruit, hire, train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in ambassador program(s).
The assistant director will collaborate extensively on event purpose, agendas, participation, assessment of events and engagement, and recruitment and marketing for planned activities with colleagues within enrollment management, communications and marketing, performing arts, athletics, and other internal administrative and academic partners, along with our external network of vendors and service providers.
The expectation is that the engagement team shall create a robust, planned and proactive events and engagement calendar at the onset of each cycle that is enhanced and iterated as the cycle presents opportunities. Additionally, the assistant director will oversee the proactive promotion of engagement work through communication, digital, and social media channels in partnership with key enrollment, marketing, and vendor partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Engagement Activities: Coordinate all recruitment engagement visits, events (on and off-campus), reception/arrival process activities, audition opportunities, and other organized engagement events pertinent to student decisioning.
In-Bound Communication: Support the coordination of a centralized customer service approach for Alma College enrollment management (admissions and new student financial aid) with the goal of ensuring clear and consistent methods of contacting Alma College; ensure that responses are timely, accurate, and reflective of Alma College’s high customer service standards.
Ambassador Program Management: advance Alma College’s use of student ambassadors by providing leadership, mentorship, and fostering a community that produces high-quality interactions; the caliber of the student ambassador program will support professional development of current Alma College students. Develop engaging training and evaluation programs and a forum for positive interactions with student leaders.
Welcome Process Coordination: Coordinate efforts to ensure welcome experience that is reflective of the Alma College brand and high customer service standards; directly manage reception center.
Asset Development & Management: work directly with strategic partners to develop and maintain assets used to promote the Alma College brand at event and visit opportunities; ensure that Alma College enrollment management efforts promote and protect the Alma College brand.
Reporting & Analysis: work with colleagues in enrollment eanagement to create dashboards and monitoring reports; produce ad-hoc analyses. Utilize data to track results and course correct as needed.
Key Collaborations: collaborate extensively with key academic and administrative colleagues and external vendors.
CRM (Slate by Technolutions): Utilize queries, reports, forms, events and scheduler on a regular basis; directly oversee the development and maintenance of Slate Inbox and related technologies utilized to manage customer service, events attendance, and satisfaction. Interact with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Alma College.
