Information Technology Services (ITS) Technician’s Assistant (Part-Time)

Alma College is accepting applications for an ITS Technician’s Assistant. This is a part-time, temporary position.

Position Summary

The Technician’s Assistant works with the Technical Support Specialists to
install and configure computers, printers, telephones, mobile devices, and related software.

Supervision Received/Supervision Exercised 

Reports to the Assistant Director, Instructional Technology and Support Services.

Essential Functions

 1. Works with Technical Support Specialists to install and configuration computers, printers, telephones, mobile devices, and related software.
2. Assists with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support for campus audio visual and computer presentation equipment.
3. Assists help desk with support of student devices.
4. On occasion, must work after hours, including evenings, holidays, and weekends.
5. Performs duties as assigned by Assistant Director, Instructional Technology and Support Services.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge of Windows, OSX, iOS, and Android operating systems;
Experience with common desktop software including Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Data Base, Presentation, and Email.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with wired and wireless data communications;
Professional oral and written communication skills; Excellent customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

Regular lifting of up to 35 lbs. and carrying equipment between various
campus locations.
