Admissions Representative/Assistant Director of Admissions

Alma College is seeking an ambitious admissions professional that is looking to directly contribute to the college’s strategic plan by increasing Alma’s out-of-state student enrollment. This role will work to support the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive strategic recruitment plans for an identified territory. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results-oriented with the ability to think creatively to foster relationships with students, parents, mentors, and other influencers in schools, communities and organizations. Salary dependent upon experience and qualifications. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Enrollment and coordinates recruitment activities and programming for an identified territory.

Duties include: Interview and counsel future students and their parents on college admission requirements and the overall college selection process. Actively recruit students in the identified territory. Represent and promote the college to external constituencies and participate in on- and off-campus admissions activities for the territory. Provide oversight and direction for students and families. Work will also include targeted communication, virtual meetings and events, and participation in admission campus events.

This position requires night and weekend work throughout the year.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree

2. Strong communication skills (interpersonal and written)

3. Ability to connect and build relationships with prospective students, families, and key constituents at the high school and community college level

4. A valid driver’s license and good driving record

5. Self-motivated and goal oriented

6. Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team

1. A minimum of one year of admissions or other professional experience
