The Economics Department at Alma College, Alma, Michigan invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning August 2022.
The department seeks a candidate who will be able to teach a wide range of courses in Economics, including the following: Principles of Microeconomics, Econometrics, and Behavioral Economics, as well as topical and interdisciplinary courses that will serve our newly revised general education curriculum. A commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts environment and evidence of effective teaching are essential. Alma College prioritizes inclusive pedagogy, experiential learning, and opportunities for student research. The successful candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching and will engage students in research and academic advising. Typical teaching load is six units per year. Additionally, the department is beginning a curricular redesign and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to this process. Candidates should have completed the Ph.D. prior to the start date.
