Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions/ Coordinator of Out-of-State Recruitment

Alma College is seeking an ambitious admissions professional that is looking to directly contribute to the college’s strategic plan by increasing Alma’s out-of-state student enrollment. This role will work on the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive strategic recruitment plans for the out-of-state territory. This position will also serve as a resource and liaison for the college regarding out-of-state student needs. Salary and title are dependent upon experience and qualifications. This position reports to the Associate Vice President for Admissions and coordinates recruitment activities and programming for the out-of-state territory.

Duties include: Interview and counsel future students and their parents on college admission requirements and the overall college selection process. Actively recruit students in the out-of-state territory. Represent and promote the college to external constituencies and participate in on- and off-campus admissions activities for the out- of-state territory. Provide oversight and direction for all out-of-state students. Work will also include targeted communication, virtual meetings and events, and participation in admission campus events.

This position requires night and weekend work and significant out-of-state travel throughout the year.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. A minimum of two years of admissions or other professional experience
  3. Strong communication skills (interpersonal and written)
  4. Ability to connect and build relationships with prospective students and families
  5. A valid driver’s license and good driving record
  6. Self-motivated and goal oriented
  7. Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team

  1. A minimum of three years of admissions or other professional experience
