Senior Art Show Features Five Thesis Works

Exhibit includes ceramics, drawings, paintings and a children’s book.

The thesis works of five graduating Alma College art students are displayed in the Flora Kirsch Beck Gallery’s annual Senior Show from Monday, March 18 through Friday, April 12.

The exhibit includes ceramics, a children’s book and a variety of drawings and paintings. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. The closing gala reception will take place on Saturday, April 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Admission is free and open to the public.

“The exhibit includes some heavy themes regarding death, as well as some very light and playful themes,” says Jillian Dickson, assistant professor of art and design.

Among the exhibitors is Sarah Manwaring.

“My work is a series of illustrations, created with the intention of being like the cover of a book—showing you just enough information about a potential narrative to make you curious,” says Manwaring. “There are specific narratives behind each of my bigger illustrations, though I’d rather not spoil them and instead leave them up to viewer interpretation.”

Artists Include:

  • Mackenzie Harris, Beverly Hills senior
  • Anissa Keeler, Marion senior
  • Sarah Manwaring, Warren senior
  • Jessica Mayne, Adrian senior
  • Marina Stack, Ithaca senior
