The 2018 Faculty and Student Art Show showcases the creative musings of individuals from the Alma College Art Department.
The faculty and students will display their work in the Flora Kirsch Beck Gallery in the Clack Art Center at Alma College from Monday, Nov. 5 through Thursday, Dec. 6. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
Admission is free and open to the public. A closing reception with the artists will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6.
Faculty participants include Jillian Dickson, Benjamin Lambert and Roxanne Shea. Allen Davies, a visiting instructor from the University of Dundee in Scotland, also has art on display. Faculty pieces can be found in the gallery; student works are located in the hall outside of the main gallery space.
Studio faculty members selected exemplary student-made works of art from the classes that they teach. Works vary widely in the type of media, materials and content used. Not all participating students are art majors.
“The strength of this exhibit is that it shows the incredible diversity of ideas and interests that make up the Alma College Art Department,” says Lambert.
