Great Scots in the Registrar’s Office
Four Alma College employees who “worked collaboratively and diligently to ensure that the complex work of the Registrar’s Office functioned well during the transition between registrars” have been recognized as this month’s Great Scots.
Sue Deel, assistant provost and acting registrar; Kathy Doran, office associate; Jenny Cooley, administrative specialist and records coordinator; and Amanda Tillotson, registration clerk, “kept
the office running smoothly during one of the busiest periods of the academic calendar,” wrote President Jeff Abernathy in his monthly campus update.
“Their positive attitudes and commitment to our students and faculty were excellent examples of the characteristics we look for in a Great Scot,” he wrote.
President Abernathy periodically presents the Great Scot Award to members of the faculty and staff for “excellence in service to Alma College.”
Mariah Orzolek joined Alma College on Nov. 1 as the new registrar. She comes to Alma from Defiance College, where she served for seven years as registrar and five years as director of residence life.
