Students Present Posters at ACS Fall Meeting

Spenser Congram’s examination of meteorite characteristics wins “best poster” award.

<em>Spenser Congram</em>Spenser CongramTwo Alma College students presented posters at the Midland Section of the American Chemical Society’s Fall 2017 Scientific Meeting in Saginaw.

Briwnsburg, Ind., senior Spenser Congram presented “Experimental Formation of Carbonaceous Chondrite Analogs,” which received the meeting’s “best poster” honor. His research examined the carbon and mineral characteristics of meteorite material.

Gwinn senior Naria Ford-Thompson presented “Forensic Science: Introductory Methods and Instrumentation.”

The conference, with a theme of “Chemistry Rocks!”, featured oral and poster sessions covering diverse topics in the chemical sciences. The Midland Section serves students, educators and the wider community in the five counties of Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Gratiot and Isabella.
